Viewpointe Board Members Lack Transparency
As of August 11, 2024 and despite subsequent and recent board meeting, there has been no reporting or disclosure about the details of the public utilities incident to the members. Questions are looming as to: 1) Who was responsible for the damage? 2) Did Viewpointe sustain fines? 3) What was the actual cost of the repair? 4) Was the repair temporary? The members deserve to know the details of the event. Interesting to note, the President of the Association, Mark Flint brags about how transparent the board is at the meetings, but here is another example of anything but that.
Public Utilities Company's Making Damaged Line Repairs 5-15-24
On Tuesday, May 15, 2024 the Utility Company Workers are making repairs to the damaged cable and phone lines. They will have to install a new cable line between two (2) points; a junction box near the wash at Viewpointe II and a junction box at 4596 E Camino de Cancun. The cost to repair will be ~ $10's of thousands of dollars and a trench across Camino de Cancun will have to be excavated. There is also the matter of a fine of up to $5,000 for violating the Arizona Blue Steak Law (not calling before digging to locate public utility lines). The Board still has not commented on who is responsible for the cost to repair or the fine.
Plumbing Company Hits Public Utility Lines (Phone & Cable) 4-29-24
It is confirmed, the Plumbing Company did not call the city before digging and hit two public utility lines (Phone & Cable). There is allegedly a gas line nearby, but apparently did not hit the gas pipe. Also, it looks like the Plumbing Company tried to connect the water line by going around an impending tree, but failed. Later, the tree was removed and a straight line pipe connection was made. The reason there was a leak on Camino Hermosillo was because during the repair the valves were switched to allow water from Skyline vs Swan road and the Skyline inlet has a latent broken pipe, that apparently has not been fixed, for who knows how many years.
Note: Arizona Law - Owners of underground facilities must locate and mark all their facilities at that location within 48 hours. Failure to do so could result in a fine of up to $5,000. You or a contractor cannot begin excavating until all utilities have been marked or be subject to a maximum fine of $5,000 per violation.
Water Leak 4-23-24
This week we had a major water leak with a six inch supply line that links Viewpointe II to Viewpointe III. Crews are working to make the repairs; broken line was under a tree, which requires repairs to work around the tree. Hundreds of gallons of water was lost down the wash. This is going to be an expensive repair. The water will be turned off during the day time hours for a few days, until repairs are made.
Saturday 4-27-24
Water remains turned off for 21 hours and counting. It appears there is still a leak in the line repair. Note: Plummer showed up to the sight Friday, 4-26-24 at about 11:00 a.m. Perhaps earlier would have been better?!
